Programs for People Overcoming Homelessness
New Beginnings programs provide temporary housing options coupled with coaching and mentoring for both families and single women. Like all programs at LifeWorks, New Beginnings programs strive to help participants learn a living. LifeWorks staff help each participant build a personalized life plan and provide coaching and mentoring along the way to help participants stabilize their health and attain more independent lifestyles. Our Life Long Learning program is available to all participants to help them achieve their personal goals.
Family Housing Program
LifeWorks Family Program is the only program of its kind in the area providing both emergency and transitional living programs for families for up to two years. Comprised primarily of single mothers with young children, the program also serves single fathers and two-parent families. The program is located at our Center for Children and their Families where the people we serve have access to over a dozen services through other social services agencies located on site. The Family Program is structured similar to dormitory style living with a shared kitchen, bathrooms and living room with private bedrooms.
Women’s Housing Program
LifeWorks Women’s Program is located at 8 Woodland Place on our Woodland Campus in Stamford’s South End. The program provides services to approximately 80 single women a year by providing both emergency and transitional housing as well as access to all Program Services. The Women’s Housing Program is structured as a boarding house with bedrooms upstairs and breakfast and dinner provided in the auditorium of an historic building.
