St. Luke's LifeWorks’ www.learnaliving.org Goes Live

Website Highlights Macy’s Shop for a Cause Event

 

Stamford, CT – July 31, 2008…St. Luke’s LifeWorks announces the installation of their new website www.learnaliving.org.  The independent non-sectarian organization provides education and skill development coupled with appropriate housing and support services to people facing homelessness in lower Fairfield County.  LifeWorks is currently participating in                Macy’s Shop for a Cause featured on the site’s home page.  A $5 ticket invites the donor to participate in an all-day discount shopping event on September 20th and allows LifeWorks to keep 100% of the ticket proceeds.

 

Learnaliving.org is a colorful, user friendly site that immediately alerts the user to current events with a digital ticker running across the top of the page…Golf Tournament taking place on October 16th and Celebration of Success on November 5thWhat’s New on the site’s home page highlights achievements of our participants on their journey toward self-sufficiency and allows users to view photo albums of recent Events including LifeWorks Rocks. Our mission and history are found on About Us and constituents can donate online through the Contribute page.  LifeWorks’ Residential, Children’s and Life Long Learning programs are described through links from ProgramsLife Long Learning offers participants the opportunity for career development, improved life skills, and computer training to help them become self-sufficient. Workshops offered through Life Long Learning are highlighted and allow for on-line sign up.  Many of our workshop presenters and tutors are community volunteers.  Opportunities for individuals and groups to help can be found on the Volunteer page; last year over 4,000 individuals volunteered at St. Luke’s LifeWorks, giving more than 15,000 hours of time.

 

Patti Geanakos of Websforgood.com provided the design services.  Based in New Canaan, Connecticut, Webs for Good, LLC assists small businesses, nonprofits and other organizations with web design and support services. Since 1993, they have provided business support to organizations large and small. Services include domain registration, website design, support and maintenance, e-commerce, silent auction software & support, online registration capabilities, and more.

We help individuals and families who are affected by homelessness, HIV/AIDS, and mental illness, learn to make their lives work better.  We provide programs for life-long learning, emergency and supportive housing and other needed direct aid.
